Environmental Health and Sustainability
Overview
Environmental health and sustainability professionals ensure we have safe food, water, and air, as well as safe places to live and work. They study the various biological, chemical, and physical hazards that threaten our planet and people. They also develop solutions to help prevent or reduce damage to the environment and human health.
Point of Pride
The environmental health and sustainability program is one of only 23 accredited programs in the nation and the only program in Illinois.
Why study Environmental Health and Sustainability?
Many field-work careers have an environmental health component. Careers in safety, biology, chemistry, and geology all focus on some aspect of the environment.
A minor in environmental health and sustainability will give you practical exposure to environmental challenges and how to solve them.
