Communication Sciences and Disorders
Overview
Students who minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders:
- learn about the professions of speech language pathology and audiology.
- receive knowledge about normal speech, language, and hearing development.
- become familiar with speech, language, and hearing characteristics that are not normal.
Point of Pride
Students in the Master's Program of Speech-Language Pathology have achieved a three-year average pass rate of 96% on the PRAXIS exam.
Why study Communication Sciences and Disorders?
The Minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders provides introductory coursework in the fields of speech language pathology and audiology. This minor is especially beneficial for students majoring in regular or special education. This minor would provide foundational knowledge for future educators by assisting them in the process of identifying students with speech, language, and/or hearing impairments.
